UPSC Syllabus for Civil Services Exam Interview

Civil Services Exam Interview is also known as Personality Test. It is the last stage of the USPC Civil Service Examination. There is no particular syllabus for the IAS interview. The candidate can expect questions from wide-ranging issues. 

• The candidates who qualify for the UPSC Mains examination will shortlisted for the ‘Personality Test or UPSC Interview’. These shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a board of interviewers appointed by the UPSC.

• The IAS interview test aims to examine the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in civil services by a board of competent and unbiased observers.

• The Civil Services Exam interview is more likely to be a purposive conversation intended to explore the mental qualities and analytical abilities of the candidates.

• The maximum score for the UPSC interview will be 275 marks and the total for the written examination is 1750. So the total will be out of 2025 marks. The total marks candidates obtained from the interview will be added to the written examination marks, based on which the final merit list will be prepared. 

Candidates should note that there are no particular changes in UPSC Syllabus 2025 in comparison with UPSC Syllabus 2023 and UPSC Syllabus 2024.
